Can you even believe that your little baby girl is about to turn sixteen years old? She is probably beside herself with excitement. For example, will she be allowed to drive now? Have you set sixteen as the magic year that she can start dating? You've probably noticed that she is turning from being an awkward teenager into a beautiful young woman. Maybe you have decided to honor her sixteenth birthday by hosting a Sweet Sixteen party.
If you are having a party, do you have all the plans set already? Did your daughter help you with the plans? If you are still in the planning stages of your daughter's Sweet Sixteen birthday celebration, from arranging for a DJ to planning the decorations for the party, here are some ideas that might help you to make it a fun and memorable event for our daughter and all of her guests.
Start With Hiring A Sweet Sixteen Party DJ - When you are looking for the DJ for your daughter's party, think of hiring one that has done Sweet Sixteen parties before. He or she will have the experience to know how to make the evening an extremely special one. For example, if the first dance will be a daddy-daughter number, the Sweet 16 DJ might choose a song like, The Way You Look Tonight. Later in the evening, songs like, Sixteen Candles will more than likely be part of the music selection.
The DJ will also have the skills to get kids out onto the dance floor. For example, if there isn't any dancing happening, the DJ might announce that the first couple on the dance floor gets free movie tickets. Wouldn't that be fun? The DJ might also have times that are girl asks boy dances. Does your daughter have favorite oldies she loves because she listened to them when you played them as she was growing up? If so, the DJ will probably have those very selections for the party.
The Party Decorations - Will the Sweet Sixteen party be held at your home or at a rented event room? Either way, you'll probably want to decorate in a big way. The decorations don't need to be elaborate or expensive. Think of decorating large posters with pictures of your daughter from the time she was tiny until present day. Balloons in strategic places will also add interest to the party room.
Think of getting a very long piece of butcher paper and adhering it to one of the walls in the party room. Have colored markers available for guests to write your daughter a message and to sign their names.
